Have you ever wonder what would be like to step out of your comfort zone and every day you being in a different place ? A traveling gap year can offer this, a gap year is a year for yourself where you won't be in your normal routine or working every day you will be traveling knowing different places. This gap year can improve your self discovery and personal growth, cultural knowledge even geography knowledge and communication skills .
A gap year can help you to know yourself and discover who you really are and you will also grow personally. When you experience different cultures and know different places you will identify with one more than others you will get to know more religions and more cultural habits that can change your point of view. In a gap year you also discover skills that you probably didn't know you had before , because you experience different situations that can challenge yourself.
During a gap year you develop knowledge about many things like different cultures, religions, geography, lifestyle and many other things. When you spend time in different places you will get to know more about their religions because you will experience their daily life styles. This also includes knowing more about their cultures and getting to know more about the typical food, which in my opinion was one of the best parts of my gap year. During your gap year you also gain geography knowledge because you will need to learn about maps and know where you are.
One of the most important skills you develop is communication. During a gap year you develop communication skills because you will need to communicate with different peoples of different countries and different languages, this demands you to adapt to their own way of communication, this can include their body language or their accent. During time you will adapt to new communication methods.Â
Overall, a gap year traveling can be life changing. It helps you discover yourself and new skills, it improves your cultural knowledge and other geographical knowledge, and it's very important for your communication skills, and most of all it builds memories for the rest of your lifetime. Personally it was the best experience of my life, the skills that I developed was helpful in my personal life and academically.Â
