The Book After

The last page closes
It seemed like a door that wasn't ready to be shut.
The words still scream,
Still echoing that final sound.
A new book waits—
Quiet and unfamiliar.
Still, I reach for it,
Because stories don't end;
They resonate.
I turn the first page,
Not letting go—
Just moving forward.
Before I realized it,
I was in a new era,
Different from the one before.
Not worse,
Just different.
And sometimes,
Just different is enough.
