The day began early for the Lady Hawks, who faced Chapel at 9 a.m. in the first of two demanding matches. With only one substitute available, EABH had little room to rotate players or offer some much-needed rest, a challenge that would follow the girls throughout the day. Chapel took the match 3-0, but the Lady Hawks worked hard at both ends of the field. The attack searched for openings, while the defense fought hard to contain the strong opponent.

It was a difficult result for a team giving everything with a limited squad. Coach David and the girls have had to make the most of the resources available, and their commitment has remained evident through a challenging start to the tournament.

At 11 a.m., the boys returned to the basketball court against ERA B and delivered an extraordinary 43-24 victory. The Hawks were in control, building an advantage that allowed Coach Fred to rotate all his players. Liam Dolafi earned Player of the Match with an impressive performance that included the Hawks’s only three-pointer.

For Fred, there was plenty to be pleased with. The team maintained its level as he diversified the lineup, sharing the workload ahead of another game that evening. After their opening victory against ISC, the Hawks had followed up with another strong performance.

The Lady Hawks then returned to the field against EARJ. Although the match ended in a 2-0 defeat, EABH played with greater organization than it had that morning and created several dangerous scoring opportunities. There was more structure to the girls’ play, and their efforts going forward gave EARJ’s defense a tougher match. Helena Pelli (3), had one of the standout chances, coming close to putting the Lady Hawks on the scoreboard.

EABH was still searching for a goal on the final play. Captain Helena Dias (88), nearly found the net with a dangerous kick, threatening until the very end of a long day on the field. The girls deserved credit for continuing to press after two difficult matches with so little support available from the bench. The afternoon performance offered signs of progress, even if the result did not reward it.

The boys closed the day against the EAC Giants in what was expected to be their toughest matchup so far. EABH answered with a 39-21 win, controlling the game from start to finish and extending its unbeaten run to three games.

Lucas Coutinho earned Player of the Match after an excellent performance, including a three-pointer. Bernardo Veloso and Liam Dolafi also presented sharp shooting from deep, making threes and adding to another strong offensive showing. Once again, the Hawks’ advantage allowed Fred to give every player time on the court, and the team continued to perform well through the substitutions. Against an opponent expected to test them, EABH finished with another comfortable result.

Coach Fred deserves recognition for the team’s tournament so far. His players have looked prepared, worked well together and maintained their standard across different lineups. Dudu Albergaria stood out in the opener, Liam and Lucas took the individual honors in the next two games. Three victories, three different Players of the Match, and contributions from the entire team have given the Hawks an excellent start and plenty for their supporters to look forward to.
