This Wednesday on December 4, EABH held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the inauguration of Bloco 2, an innovative space for students to grow and succeed. This event emphasized EABH’s future program, a fundraising program that inspires the community to support these transformations through the Annual Fund and other gift efforts, seeking the enrichment of the school's learning environment.
The Head of School, Mr. Kerry began by introducing Humberto Matos, a member of the construction team who praised his construction partners, architects, and other committee members who provided this opportunity.
Moreover, Ana Clara Quintão, president of the Student Council, proceeded to the stage to represent the student body. She said she was “eager to see how this project will allow future students to see even more of EABH spirit.”
Ultimately, Mr. Kerry spoke about the purpose of this new space, honoring the feedback shared by the community, “This space will hold new friendships, new achievements, and new stories (...) this building will open doors for generations of students.” According to him, Bloco 2 reflects the school's commitment to excellence.
After the speech, a staff member at the school, Joanne, expressed her gratitude as she featured EABH Master Plan, a multi-phase project that targets expanding and modernizing the school's campus and infrastructure. With the goal of creating facilities to support the school's innovative methodology, improving students’ learning experiences, Master Plan includes initiatives that aim to support academic development and global citizenship for students. Joanne said she believes that future generations will be thankful for this moment just as today's community is for previous projects.
To officially move on from the planning phase, Humberto suggested that board members take part in the groundbreaking event by shoveling soil at the site as a way to celebrate the first day of construction. Upper school students proceeded, alongside other guests at the event. This symbolizes the start of the building process, marking the Bloco 2's inauguration!
