Clubs at School During Lunch

IC

Meetings Monday from 12:30 to 13:00

The Innovative Circle is a club at EABH led by Lucas Chen. It is a club where you and your partners have to create a business plan. To do this you and your partners are given the task to create a business proposal, and then take your idea forward by creating its planout; you will then present this business plan to a group of investors. The Daily Hawk

Meetings Monday from 13:00 to 13:30 & Tuesday’s from 15:00 to 16:15 (if you do not have athletics)

The Daily Hawk is a club led by Beatriz Cicci. You probably heard of the Daily Hawk since it is the School's Newspaper. In this club you have to write two article’s per semester about any topic of your choosing, and then your work will be published on the website. This club is a great opportunity for you to improve your writing and journalistic skills; for more information contact the club advisor: Guilherme Galvão.


Math League

Meetings Tuedays from 12:40 to 13:40 (6th to 8th grade)

Math League is a club at EABH led by Ms. Alyssa Strickland. In this club you will be challenged with advanced math questions to prepare for the math league competition. This club is a great opportunity to improve your math skills; for more information about the club, contact Alyssa Strickland.


GIN

Meetings Tuesday from 12:40 to 13:10

GIN is a club at EABH led by Edward Mason. In this club you choose to be part of one of the three possible projects that aims to help our community strive. One of these projects is the Valentina Project where its purpose is to make mechanical arms for people in need, along with another project that spreads good habits through activities for other people. Math Honor Society

Meetings Tuesday from 13:10 to 13:40 (10th to 12th grade)

Math Honor Society is a club led by Eduardo Bonato. In this club you will be doing difficult math questions with your fellow colleagues. This club is an excellent opportunity for you to improve your math skills since you will be doing questions that you probably have never done before. For more information contact Eduardo Bonato.


Compassion Club

Meetings Tuesday from 13:00 to 13:30

The Compassion Club is a club at EABH led by Ms. Tamara Brooks. This club aims at improving your mental health as it teaches how you can become happier in a variety of ways, such as finding strength to act in real world situations and stopping bullying. NJHS

Meetings Wednesday from 13:00 to 13:30 (6th to 9th grade)

The NJHS is a club at EABH led by Mr. Túlio Resende. It is made to improve the character of the students at EABH. It is a great opportunity to prepare for the NHS and learn the values of the four pillars of scholarship, character, service, and leadership. NHS

Meetings Wednesday from 13:00 to 13:30 (10th to 12th grade)

The NHS is a prestigious club at EABH that you need to be invited to join. The advisor of the club is Mr B and the current president is Lucas Chen. For you to be invited to join the club you need to be in 10th grade or higher and follow the four pillars; these pillars are of scholarship (by having a GPA above 3.85), character (demonstrating positive values and attitudes), service (doing community service), and leadership (by being a leader in the community). Knowledge Bowl

Meetings Wednesday from 13:00 to 13:30

The Knowledge Bowl is a club at EABH led by Mr. Derrick Mukasa. In this club the members do quizzes about trivia, math, science, history, geography, fine arts, literature, current events, popular culture, and more. This club is a great opportunity for you to enhance your general knowledge. For more information about the club contact Derrick Mukasa.


MUN

Meetings Wednesday from 15:00 to 16:15 (9th to 12th grade)

Even though MUN is not a club during lunch, I decided to include it on this list because it is a club that happens on a time when most people are free (since there is no athletics on Wednesday). MUN is a club at EABH led by João Antônio Gomes. In this club you participate in many conferences (some in which you have to travel to other states of Brazil and others that happen in the school), and in these conferences you represent a country of the world, similar to the UN meeting format, addressing a problem from the present day or from the past; it is important to be loyal to your country's actual position on the topic. Chess Club

Meetings Thursdays from 12:30 to 13:00

The school's Chess Club is led by Ben Jackson. It is a club where members are free to play chess, Onitama, Coup, and other board games. This club is perfect for having fun playing board games, improving your chess skills, as well as also being notified about chess tournaments in Minas Gerais. SAC & SALC

Meetings Thursday from 12:30 to 13:00

SAC & SALC are clubs at school led by the athletic director Jaison Norris and the current president Lucas Chen. By participating in SAC you will have to participate in athletic events at the school. You might be filming the games, taking the score, or collecting the balls, but you have to be helping in some way. SALC is a bit different because there is a voting process for you to join; in SALC you will be working on the logistics of the events at school and the athletic uniform's design. STUCO

Meetings Thursday from 13:00 to 13:30

STUCO is a club at EABH led by Marina Lelis and the current president is Marcela Borlido. For you to join the club for an officer position, (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter) you have to be elected by the school; if you want to run for class representative, you have to be elected by your classmates. In this club you will be tackling school problems to improve our campus in some way; by being at this club you will be at school events selling food, and gathering funds to invest on projects aimed to improve our campus environment. JMUN

Meetings Friday from 12:30 to 13:00 (6th to 8th grade)

JMUN is a club for middle schoolers at EABH led by Mrs. Crystal Van Cleef. Members of the club are prepared for MUN by doing JMUN conferences, which are just like the MUN conferences already explained previously. This club is a great opportunity to create leaders and improve your speaking skills. For more information, contact Crystal Van Cleef.


Leadership & Service Club

Meetings Friday from 13:00 to 13:30

The Leadership & Service Club is a club at EABH led by Marcela Borlido. In this club the members will choose two organizations to visit and bring donations at the end of the semester. This year the members chose CAPE and Hospital da Baleia. This club is great for you to get involved in community service and be active in the community.
